The event was organized within the context of the Large Scale Pilot (LSP) projects initiated by the European Commission. LSPs have been run under the ICT Policy Support Programme in five main areas: e-ID, e-Procurement, e-Health, e-Justice, and business life-cycle. They aim to develop practical solutions to improve cross-border public services across Europe. Effective communication between public administration, citizens and businesses is crucial for building the Digital Single Market. The e-SENS project is expected to consolidate the results of previous initiatives and to provide a set of solutions that can easily be reused in key areas of public administration. The essence of the project is to consolidate and solidify the work done by the different large scale pilot projects previously launched, to industrialize the solutions and to extend their potential to new domains.
